This Loveland Couple Is Brimming with Excitement Over Their Coffee Franchise Business
When you think about it, most of life is random. Chance meetings, wrong turns, lucky coincidences … one day you’re going about your everyday normal and the next thing you know, a gentle nudge from the universe pushes you in a new direction.
Such was born the BIGGBY Coffee franchise in Loveland—owned and operated by Loveland locals Amy and Dustin Hepburn. “Honestly, opening any type of franchise was not even on our life’s radar,” Amy says. “The BIGGBY Coffee idea just kind of fell into our lap.”
And by that, Amy’s referring to a post she saw on Facebook from a friend and fellow BIGGBY owner about a search for new franchisees in the area.
“I joked with my husband that we should buy a coffee franchise. We filled out the application, never in a million years thinking it would actually happen. The rest followed—it was meant to be!” Amy says.
The Hepburns opened BIGGBY in October 2018. “We wanted it to have a personal feel and be in close proximity to our friends and family,” Amy says. “The space happened to be available … it was a great opportunity to have our store right in the middle of where we live and work.”
Although Amy is a teacher, Dustin a realtor, and they have two children, they still share managing the store and work behind the coffee bar when needed.
“There are definitely days we are exhausted, but we love the store and all the relationships we’ve built with our customers and staff,” Amy says.
In fact, they love it so much that next year they’re opening B-Cubed, a drive-thru BIGGBY concept in Eastgate with partners Terry and Leslie Planitzer. “It’s a great concept that allows for convenience, coupled with all the other great things about BIGGBY.”
