It’s That Time Again

I can’t believe Christmas is almost here again. Last year, to be honest, the holiday season wiped me out—I’m not just talking financially, I’m talking wrapping-presents-at-3:30-a.m.-Christmas-Eve-staring-into-my-pantry-wondering-if-an-unopened-jar-of-cinnamon-could-work-as-a-stocking-stuffer kind of wiped out. This year, I’m determined to stay on top of things—that’s why I was very excited to feature Haven Grey in our gift guide. This boutique nestled in downtown Loveland has shelves full of beautiful items that belong in my home … I mean, that would make great gifts for other people. From candles and lanterns to pillows and throws, there’s really nothing they carry that I don’t want. Case in point: their wine bags are adorned with some seriously adorable phrases. I’ve been eyeing a few for gifts.

For the foodies on my list, gift cards to Tony’s are simply a must. In addition to their delectable dishes, their newly renovated bar, dining room and patio are chic and stunning—the perfect locale to toast any occasion or just a special night out. Plus, Tony himself is a master of giving … an example we should all be inspired to follow. Find out more in “Heart of the Matter.”

For my husband, I know he wants some new skis—and of course, Vertical Drop is the place to go. But deciding where to properly break them in? That’s a little harder of a challenge. Thankfully, we caught up with the guys at Vertical Drop, and they had some recommendations near, far and across the pond for the best resorts to carve some fresh powder (passport? Check!). Is one of your favorites on their list?

With the 25th just around the corner, I hope I’ve given you a few good gift ideas to take the pressure off last-minute idea-gathering, especially if you’re a procrastinator like me. And while I have a few items already checked off my list, I’m nowhere near finished (but at least I’ve started). I’m just hoping to keep the cinnamon in the deserts this year and out of the stockings. Happiest of holidays, everyone.
