Dorothy said it best: “There’s no place like home.” Whether it’s in a bustling city or down a country lane, home is the place we long for after a particularly hard day at the office or an extended vacation with the in-laws.

This issue, we celebrate everything that goes into transforming a house into a home. We’ve culled tips and tricks to help you redecorate your house like a seasoned design pro. Learn how to properly light your large-scale living room from Tom at A Shade Better; get the latest in window treatment trends from Kim, owner of Window Accents; and let Sheri from Verbarg’s Furniture & Design help you select a cozy reading chair, a family-friendly dining room set or the ultimate sectional sofa for the man cave.

If a major home renovation is on your radar, make sure to check out our Open House feature. It’s one family’s incredible journey to achieving their dream home, complete with a kitchen that I shamelessly covet.

Our Hot Spot this issue is a personal favorite of mine—the Antique Peddlers and Corner Coffee Café. With their powers combined, these two businesses constitute the perfect Saturday morning. I know of no other place where I can get a delicious sandwich and coffee, then turn around and find a gorgeous 19th-century hutch for my kitchen, all under one roof.

Whether you’re replacing a lampshade or redesigning your kitchen, hopefully, this issue will inspire your changes and upgrades. Because there’s honestly no place like home.
