Check out what’s on our Editorial Coordinators’ wish lists this year

My son and I decided to start collecting jazz on vinyl. As a piano student, he’s going to need Jimmy Smith and Vince Guaraldi. I’ll take Blossom Dearie and Toots Thielemans. –JD

Writer A.J. Liebling called it “the sweet science of bruising.” Classes at Title Boxing boost my powers of concentration and help me sleep like a baby. –JD

Gray Zeitz makes clothbound, hand-stitched, traditional letterpress books at his humble Larkspur Press in Kentucky. I’m currently coveting The Affrilachian Sonnets by Frank X. Walker. –JD

The bosses at Britain’s MI6 have signed their correspondence in green since the agency’s inception. As someone with slightly less security clearance, I typically stick with navy blue. Van Gogh Starry Night is my favorite fountain pen ink. –JD

Thanks to Girl Scout Troop 607, I can build a campfire with confidence and may still have the merit badge to prove it. But sometimes it’s nice to have an ace up your sleeve with Duraflame Logs. –JD

I survived the soccer season, four consecutive tournaments, two parties and hockey (so far). A January getaway to see String Cheese and Keller would completely restore my harmony. –SM

With research and testing complete, I’m ready for my day-touring sit-in kayak (plus river transport). Blue is my favorite color. –SM

Premium vanilla is, well, at a premium. If you’re expecting the usual cookie brilliance, I’m nearly out of Pure Vanilla Bean Paste. The kind with Madagascar bourbon. –SM

You know, my birthday is in December and often gets lost between holidays. An over-the-top, insanely extravagant day at the spa would definitely ease that pain. –SM

Holiday baking and indulgences aside, I need to get back in the saddle. With some clip-in bike shoes, too? I’m not picky. –SM
